Introduction

Gotara is a browser-based isometric MMO on Solana. You move on a tile map, explore a voxel-style town, chat with other players, and complete quests. The twist: quests in Gotara are not imaginary rewards in an inflationary game token — they are live bounties on pump.fun, funded by the creator rewards the $BOUNTY token earns from trading, and paid in SOL.

The Gotara plaza

One line: the MMO where quests pay real SOL.

Current Status

Gotara is in open beta and is being built in public, one layer at a time:

  • Live now: the world (5 biomes), movement, camera, real multiplayer, global chat, Phantom wallet sign-in, persistent player profiles, spectate mode, the Bounty Board, combat (10 unique mob types across biomes with aggro AI), tree chopping (trees disappear and respawn after 10s), fishing (9 fish + legendaries with item rewards), tool hotbar (sword/axe/rod/inventory), interior rooms (Bounty House), player health and respawn, quests, challenges (Challenge Stone with difficulty tiers), fortune wheel, coin collecting, animated water, and the proof-code flow.
  • In development: PvP arena duels, more interiors, crafting. coming soon
  • Planned: server-issued proof codes, public proof verification page, and the $BOUNTY token launch. coming soon
Anything marked "coming soon" does not exist yet. These docs never describe unfinished features as live.

The Town

The world is a 64×64 tile floating island split into five biomes, connected by roads.

Town (Grasslands)

  • Plaza — the stone-paved center with the fountain, the prize wheel, and the Bounty Board.
  • Bounty House — east of the plaza, marked by floating golden "BOUNTY HOUSE" text; the Bounty Board stands in front of it.
  • Arcade — the large building in the north-west.
  • Bank — on the northern road.
  • Inn — south of the plaza.
  • Billboard — north-east; will show live $BOUNTY market data after launch. coming soon
  • Fishing Pond — south-east corner of the town.

Other Biomes

  • Snow Tundra — north-east. Frozen lake, pine trees, and ice formations.
  • Dense Forest — south-west. Towering canopy, mossy rocks, and a winding river.
  • Desert — south-east. Cacti, sand dunes, an oasis, and a desert market square.
  • Beach — far south-east coast. Palm trees, driftwood, and ocean waves.
  • Pond & wilds — trees, rocks, and bushes scatter the rest of the island.

Interior Rooms

Some buildings can be entered. Walk up and press E or click the building to go inside. Interiors are fully rendered isometric rooms using the same engine, camera, and controls as the overworld.

Bounty House Interior

  • A 12×10 tile room with walls, furniture, and a bounty board on the back wall.
  • Your character walks around freely inside — same click-to-move pathfinding.
  • Contains bookshelves, barrels, crates, and a table with items.
  • Walk to the exit door at the south end or press Esc to leave.

More interiors (Arcade, Bank, Inn) are planned. coming soon

Arena & Activities

The roped ring in the north-east is the PvP Arena. Duels — challenge, fight, win — are the objective of the "Arena Blood" bounty and are currently in development. coming soon

The spinning prize wheel on the plaza is decorative for now. Any future wheel activity will be skill- or participation-based — Gotara has no chance-based payouts.

The PvP arena

Movement & Camera

Click a tile to walk to it; the game finds a path around obstacles automatically (water, buildings, and props are not walkable). A yellow highlight previews the tile under your cursor, and a pulsing diamond marks your destination.

The camera pans by dragging or with W A S D / arrow keys, and zooms with the scroll wheel toward your cursor. The world is rendered live on a canvas — every building, tree, and character is drawn procedurally, not from image files.

Tools & Hotbar

The hotbar at the bottom of the screen holds four tool slots, switched with number keys or by clicking:

  • Sword (1) — melee weapon for fighting mobs. Click near a mob or press E to swing.
  • Axe (2) — chop trees for wood. Stand next to a tree and interact.
  • Fishing Rod (3) — cast at pond edges. A timing minigame determines your catch quality.
  • Inventory (4) — opens the inventory panel showing all collected items sorted by category.

Your equipped tool is drawn on your character model and visible to other players. Each tool has a hand-drawn pixel-art icon in the hotbar and inventory UI.

Combat

Hostile mobs roam all five biomes outside the town safe zone. Combat is real-time and skill-based.

How It Works

  • Aggro: mobs detect you within 4 tiles. Their eyes turn red and a "!" indicator appears. They chase at 1.4× normal speed.
  • Attacking: equip the Sword (1), move within range, and click or press E. A cooldown prevents spam.
  • Mob attacks: mobs strike back when in melee range. Stronger mobs hit harder but swing slower.
  • Death: if your HP reaches zero, you respawn in town after 3 seconds with full health. No items are lost.
  • Loot: slain mobs drop a resource (Slime Gel, Boar Tusk, Wolf Pelt, etc.) plus coins and XP.

Mob Types

GrasslandSlime, Wild Boar
Snow TundraFrost Wolf, Ice Golem
Dense ForestShadow Spider, Treant
DesertScorpion, Sand Viper
BeachCrab, Sea Serpent

The town area is a safe zone — mobs will not spawn or aggro there.

Gathering & Inventory

Resources are gathered from the world and stored in your persistent inventory.

Tree Chopping

Equip the Axe (2), stand next to any tree, and interact. The tree disappears when chopped, leaving a stump. It respawns after 10 seconds. Different biomes yield different wood types: Oak, Pine, Dark Wood, Cactus Spine, and Palm Wood.

Fishing

Equip the Rod (3) near a pond edge and press E. A timing bar appears — stop the marker in the green zone. Accuracy affects rarity: 7 common fish, 2 rare, and the legendary Gotara Leviathan. Each catch is added to your inventory as an item.

Inventory

Press I, B, or 4 to view all items. They are sorted into categories (Mob Drops, Wood, Fish, Other) with pixel-art icons and quantities. All inventory data persists across sessions, saved to your wallet profile.

Challenges

The Challenge Stone is a glowing rune pillar west of the plaza, offering timed combat and gathering challenges separate from the bounty system.

  • Challenges are grouped into three difficulty tiers: Easy, Medium, and Hard.
  • Examples include: defeat 5 slimes, chop 10 trees, catch 15 fish, defeat Ice Golems.
  • Each completed challenge rewards coins and XP proportional to difficulty.
  • Progress is tracked automatically — kill a mob or catch a fish and your challenge counters update.

Access challenges via the Challenge Stone (walk up + E) or the "Challenges" pill in the HUD.

Chat

Press Enter to focus the chat box, type, and Enter again to send. Chat is real and global: every message is sent to everyone online and appears in the chat log and as a speech bubble above your character. coming soon

The Bounty Economy

Gotara's economy is a loop between the $BOUNTY token, pump.fun, and the game:

  • Trading $BOUNTY on pump.fun generates creator rewards in SOL.
  • Those rewards fund bounties posted on pump.fun — public, on-platform, visible to everyone.
  • The same bounties appear in-game on the Bounty Board, each deep-linking to its pump.fun page.
  • Bounty objectives are only completable inside Gotara.
  • Completions become public submissions on pump.fun — attention that feeds back into the loop.

No inflationary reward token, no promises the game can't keep: rewards are real SOL, posted up-front, administered by pump.fun.

Bounty Lifecycle

  • PREVIEW — the bounty is on the in-game board but not yet posted on pump.fun. All current bounties are previews until the $BOUNTY launch.
  • OPEN — the bounty is live on pump.fun and on the board, with its deadline and submission count shown.
  • PAID — pump.fun has approved a submission and paid the reward.
  • EXPIRED — the deadline passed without an approved completion.
The bounty board

Open the board by walking up to it and pressing E, clicking it, or using the "Bounties" pill in the HUD.

Proof Codes & Verification

Completing a bounty objective issues a unique proof code in the format BTR-XXXX-XXXX. You submit it on pump.fun together with a screenshot; pump.fun reviews and pays out.

The verification roadmap, in order:

  • Now: the proof-code flow exists in the UI as a development stub, so the full claiming experience can be tested end to end.
  • Next: codes generated and signed server-side, tied to your identity, the bounty, and a timestamp — one code per player per bounty. coming soon
  • Then: a public verify page where anyone — including pump.fun reviewers — can paste a code and see who completed what, and when. coming soon
Fair play: one player, one identity. Anything resembling fake accounts or multi-wallet claiming violates pump.fun's terms and will invalidate proofs.

$BOUNTY Token

$BOUNTY is Gotara's token, launching on pump.fun. coming soon

  • The contract address will be published here, on the landing page, and on official socials — nowhere else. Verify before you trade.
  • Creator rewards from trading fund the pump.fun bounties — that is the token's role in the game.
  • $BOUNTY is not required to walk around and explore during the beta.
Nothing on this page is financial advice. Trading tokens is risky; never trade more than you can afford to lose.

FAQ

Do I need a wallet to play?

Yes — Play Now connects your Phantom wallet (a connection only, never a transaction). Spectate lets you watch the town without a wallet.

Who pays the bounties?

pump.fun administers all bounty payouts. Gotara posts the bounties from creator rewards but never custodies funds and cannot guarantee that any submission is approved.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes — pump.fun requires users to be 18 or older to participate in bounties.

Can I complete a bounty more than once?

No. One proof code per player per bounty.

Is Gotara open about what's real?

Yes. Every number you see in the game and on this site is real or absent — there are no fake player counts, fake market caps, or fake submission numbers. Features that don't exist yet are marked "coming soon".
