HOW TO PLAY GOTARA

A quick path from your first visit to claiming your first bounty — written for players, not developers.

Start Here: Your First Minutes

Gotara runs entirely in your browser — no download, no install. Hit Play Now, connect your Phantom wallet (a connection only — never a transaction), and you spawn in town near the main crossroads. Just want to look around first? Spectate needs no wallet at all.

The town with the arcade and bank buildings

The town — arcade, bank, and the paths that lead to the plaza.

Click anywhere on the ground to walk there. Your character finds its own way around buildings, trees, and water. Head south-east along the path to reach the plaza — that's where everything important is.

Tools & Hotbar

The hotbar at the bottom of the screen shows your four tools. Press the number keys or click the slots to switch between them:

  • Sword (1) — attack hostile mobs. Click near a mob or press E to swing.
  • Axe (2) — chop trees. Stand next to a tree and click or press E to harvest wood.
  • Fishing Rod (3) — cast at a pond edge. Press E near water to start the fishing minigame.
  • Inventory (4) — view all collected items sorted by category.

Your equipped tool is visible on your character so other players can see what you're wielding.

The World

The town sits on a floating island. The plaza at its heart has the fountain, the prize wheel, and the bounty board. Around it you'll find:

  • The Plaza & Fountain — the social hub. Most players hang out here.
  • The Bounty House — east of the plaza, marked by the floating golden "BOUNTY HOUSE" text. The bounty board stands in front of it.
  • The Arcade — the big building in the north-west.
  • The Bank — north side, next to the main road.
  • The Billboard — live $BOUNTY stats, once the token is live. coming soon
  • The Inn & the pond — south side. The pond is where you fish.

Activities & Quests

Everything you do in town earns coins and XP — both are saved to your wallet profile and shown in the top-right HUD.

  • Coin collecting — gold coins shimmer on the paths and the plaza. Walk over one to grab it; it respawns somewhere else shortly after.
  • Fishing — stand at the pond's edge with the fishing rod equipped and press E. Stop the bobber inside the green zone to land a catch. The closer to the centre, the better your odds of rare fish — from Pond Minnows up to the legendary Gotara Leviathan.
  • The fortune wheel — next to the plaza. One free spin per day for a coin prize between 5 and 150. A golden "SPIN!" appears when your spin is ready.
  • Quests — the Quartermaster stands on the plaza with a golden "!" overhead. His quest log tracks your progress automatically as you collect, fish, fight, and spin. Finishing a quest pays coins and XP.
Tip: spectators can watch coins sparkle and players fish, but you need a connected wallet to play and earn.

Combat & Mobs

Hostile creatures roam all five biomes outside the town safe zone. Equip your Sword (1) and click near a mob or press E to attack.

  • Aggro — mobs notice you within 4 tiles. Their eyes turn red and a "!" appears overhead. They will chase you.
  • Mob attacks — if a mob reaches you, it deals damage at its own rate. Stronger mobs hit harder but attack slower.
  • Health — your HP bar is shown in the top-right HUD and under your character. If it reaches zero, you respawn in town after 3 seconds.
  • Safe zone — the town area (roughly the north-west quarter of the map) is safe. Mobs won't spawn or aggro there.
  • Loot — every slain mob drops a resource (Slime Gel, Boar Tusk, Wolf Pelt, etc.) plus coins and XP. Loot goes straight into your inventory.

Mob types by biome:

GrasslandSlime, Wild Boar
SnowFrost Wolf, Ice Golem
ForestShadow Spider, Treant
DesertScorpion, Sand Viper
BeachCrab, Sea Serpent

Gathering & Inventory

Beyond combat, you can gather resources from the world:

  • Chopping trees — equip your Axe (2), stand next to any tree, and click or press E. The tree disappears when chopped (leaving a stump) and respawns after 10 seconds. Different biomes yield different wood: Oak, Pine, Dark Wood, Cactus Spine, Palm Wood.
  • Fishing — equip the Rod (3) near a pond. A timing minigame determines your catch — the closer to the green zone center, the better your odds of rare fish. Each catch goes into your inventory as a collectible item. Seven common fish, two rare, and the legendary Gotara Leviathan await.

Press I, B, or 4 to open your inventory. Items are sorted into categories: Mob Drops, Wood, Fish, and Other. Each item shows a hand-drawn icon and your current quantity.

All inventory data is saved to your player record — items persist across sessions.

Challenges

The Challenge Stone — a glowing rune pillar west of the plaza — offers combat and gathering challenges separate from the pump.fun bounties.

  • Click the stone or use the "Challenges" pill in the HUD to open the challenge list.
  • Challenges come in three difficulty tiers: Easy, Medium, and Hard — with increasing coin and XP rewards.
  • Examples: defeat specific mobs, chop trees, catch fish, or survive in dangerous biomes.
  • Progress is tracked automatically as you play.
Tip: challenges are a great way to earn coins and XP quickly while exploring the outer biomes.

The Bounty House

The large building east of the plaza with the floating golden "BOUNTY HOUSE" text is an enterable interior. Click the building or walk up and press E to go inside.

  • The interior is a fully walkable isometric room — same camera, same controls.
  • A bounty board on the back wall lets you check bounties from inside.
  • Walk to the exit door at the south end to leave, or press Esc.
  • The room contains bookshelves, barrels, crates, and a table with items.

The Bounty Board

The wooden notice board on the east edge of the plaza is the core of Gotara. Every quest on it is a real bounty posted on pump.fun, funded by $BOUNTY creator rewards — and every objective is only completable by playing Gotara.

The bounty board on the plaza

Walk up to the board and press E, or just click it.

Each bounty card shows the objective and the SOL reward. Once the bounties go live on pump.fun, each card will deep-link to its pump.fun page. The "Bounties" pill at the top of the screen opens the board from anywhere.

Note: in-game activities (coins, fishing, the wheel, quests) are live now, and everything you do is saved to your player record — that record is what pump.fun bounty claims will be checked against at launch.

Claiming on pump.fun

Everything you do in Gotara — quests, catches, spins, coins — is saved to your wallet's player record. Claiming works like this:

  • Complete the bounty objective in game; it's recorded automatically.
  • Open the bounty on pump.fun from its card on the board.
  • Submit your wallet address with a screenshot of your completion.
  • Your in-game record is verified, and pump.fun pays the SOL reward.

Records are tied to your wallet — only the wallet that completed the objective can claim its bounty.

Important: bounty participation requires a pump.fun account (18+). All rewards are administered by pump.fun and are subject to its review and approval — Gotara never custodies funds and cannot guarantee payouts.

Tips

  • The town is a safe zone — retreat there if your HP is low.
  • Stronger mobs in snow/forest/desert drop rarer loot but hit harder. Start with Slimes in the grassland.
  • Chopped trees leave a stump and respawn after 10 seconds — no need to travel far for wood.
  • Zoom out for an overview of the island, zoom in for combat detail.
  • The soundtrack starts automatically — toggle in the top-right HUD.
  • Check the bounty board often: bounties expire, and new ones are posted as creator rewards come in.
  • Check the Challenge Stone for extra coin and XP objectives.
  • On small screens the game still loads, but Gotara is best on desktop.
  • Aim for the centre of the green zone when fishing — accuracy raises rare-catch odds.
  • Keep an eye on your HP bar — mobs attack back and can kill you if you're not careful.
  • All progress (inventory, coins, XP, quest completions) is saved to your wallet profile automatically.
